Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Clune – the need for funding to be put in place to ensure the further development of Cork Airport; (2) Deputy Neville – the extension to Pallaskenry national school, County Limerick; (3) Deputy Broughan – the urgent need to publish the inspector's report on the special amenity area order for Howth and to confirm the Howth Special Amenity Area Order; (4) Deputy Perry – the urgent need for the immediate appointment of a teacher in Achonry national school, County Sligo, due to the phenomenal increase in the numbers in the school catchment area; (5) Deputy McGinley – the urgent need to complete reconstruction works on Portnablagh Pier, County Donegal; (6) Deputy Gay Mitchell – the delays of up to three years in having the occupational therapy unit of the Eastern Regional Health Authority assess the needs of disabled and elderly people; (7) Deputy Howlin – the urgent need for the Minister of Justice, Equality and Law Reform to outline the steps he intends to take in light of the upsurge in gangland and drug related murders in Dublin city; (8) Deputy Breeda Moynihan-Cronin – the circumstances whereby a grant was reissued to a private concern in relation to the Caragh river despite the fact that guarantees given by the Minister's predecessor were not fulfilled to the satisfaction of the local community; (9) Deputy Theresa Ahearn – the urgency for additional staff to reduce the present two to three year waiting period for assessment for potential adoptive parents in South Tipperary; (10) Deputy Finucane – the need to provide funding to Limerick County Council for the replacement of the roofs on 43 houses at Clenma Estate in Croom, County Limerick; (11) Deputy Jim Higgins – the brutal weekend gangland killing in Ballymun, which brings to six the number of gangland killings in Dublin since the beginning of the year and to 18 the number of unsolved gangland killings in Dublin in the past 20 months; (12) Deputy Creed – the special arrangements that need to be put in place for this year's leaving certificate for a student (details supplied) in County Cork; (13) Deputy Owen – the delays in the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment in the issuing of work permits to non-EEA citizens and the consequent difficulties being caused to many businesses; (14) Deputy Bradford – the need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development to initiate and pursue policies which will encourage young people to take up a career in farming; (15) Deputy Coveney – the action the Government is taking to deal with the increasing problem of homelessness in Cork city; (16) Deputy Stanton – the need to enable the Blood Transfusion Service Board in Cork to carry out autologous transfusions; (17) Deputy Seán Ryan – the need for additional staff in the work permit section of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment; (18) Deputy Sheehan – the need to purchase special equipment for the special class for children with severe and profound learning disabilities operated by St. Joseph's girls national school, Skibbereen.

The matters raised by Deputies Clune, Howlin, Creed and Sheehan have been selected for discussion.
